Parkland is a low-density, family-oriented city in northwest Broward County, known for large lots, strong schools and gated communities with resort amenities.
A different kind of South Florida
Parkland was developed deliberately at low density, with generous lot sizes, extensive green space and equestrian roots that still show in the city’s trail network and rural-edge character. It is inland — there is no ocean access here — and buyers choose it precisely because it trades coastal proximity for space, quiet and family infrastructure.
The city’s reputation rests heavily on its public schools, which is the single most common reason families relocate here from elsewhere in Broward and Palm Beach counties.
The main communities
Heron Bay is the largest and best-known, a guard-gated master-planned community of multiple subdivisions with a substantial amenity programme. Parkland Golf & Country Club centres on golf and a full clubhouse. MiraLago and Watercrest are newer gated communities built around lakes and contemporary product.
Who Parkland suits
Parkland suits families with school-age children, buyers who want newer construction and larger lots, and those willing to drive twenty to thirty minutes to the coast. It suits less well buyers who want walkability, dockage, nightlife or a seasonal lock-and-leave residence.
